Choose the energy workflow first; a 1,605km combined claim does not answer the same question as electric-only range.

  • Current official Ultra AWD pricing is ¥299,800 for BEV and ¥279,800 for EREV, a ¥20,000 difference. Both measure 4,960 x 1,985 x 1,736mm with a 2,950mm wheelbase, seat 5, claim 0-100km/h in 5.2s, and list a 200km/h top speed. This matched basis prevents trim or drivetrain differences from distorting the powertrain choice.
  • The BEV uses a 100kWh battery and 800V architecture with no fuel tank. The EREV uses a 53.4kWh battery, 400V architecture, 1.5T four-cylinder range extender, and 60L high-pressure tank. It can prioritize electric operation, but still carries an engine, fuel use, and the related maintenance path.
  • Under the official wheel and option conditions, BEV claims 705km CLTC electric range. EREV claims 355km CLTC electric and 1,605km combined range, plus 302km WLTC electric and 1,425km combined. These figures describe different energy boundaries. Both Ultra AWD entries list 30%-80% fast charging in 15 minutes under manufacturer conditions; EREV can also use 95-RON-or-higher fuel.
  • BEV adds a 140L front trunk and lists 882-2,136L of rear cargo space. EREV has no front trunk and lists 860-2,114L in the rear. The difference will matter most to owners who regularly fill the vehicle rather than changing its basic class.

Who it is for

  • Choose BEV if reliable home or workplace charging covers daily use, fast charging is dependable on long routes, and the 100kWh battery, 800V system, 705km official electric claim, and added cargo space are worth the premium.
  • Choose EREV if cross-city or remote travel makes charging uncertainty more important than ¥20,000, while 355km of official electric range can cover routine trips before the 60L fuel system is needed.

Watch-outs

  • Do not mix presale prices, Max+, Ultra, rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive. The ¥299,800, ¥279,800, and ¥20,000 figures apply only to the current Ultra AWD pair checked July 26, 2026, before options, insurance, or incentives.
  • The 705km, 355km, 1,605km, 302km, and 1,425km values use official CLTC or WLTC conditions, not winter, highway, or full-load road tests. The 30%-80% and 15-minute claim is not a universal full-charge time.
  • Earlier secondary material states 4.5s for the EREV, conflicting with the current official Ultra AWD figure of 5.2s. This article uses the current official 5.2s figure; the discrepancy does not change the BEV-versus-EREV conclusion.
